Talk:Scrunchie

[edit] Hangon request
I'm not the author of this article, but I would like to contest its speedy deletion. A scrunchie (spelt with an "r") is what this article is talking about, and while it definitely needs cleanup (which I'm willing to do), it is a very viable article about an everyday hair fastening elastic. It does indeed pass the google test, if you take a look at the results for "scrunchie" and "scrunchy" [1] [2]. I could certainly get a picture of one of mine, and I can tell you that at the very least it's not nonsense but perhaps just something the tagger hasn't heard of (male, perhaps?)
At any rate, I ask that this article not be deleted until I can take some time to clean it up. Thanks! —Keakealani 06:24, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
- Did you even read what was written? I just removed ALL of the nonsense...celebrities who wear them, faked quotes, Amazon women with them in their armpit hair for its origin, definition (WP is not a dictionary). Ta-da. One usable sentence. Thus, db-nonsense. This should also probably be genericized to "hair band" or something. ju66l3r 06:28, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

- I was originally an advocate of db-nonsenseing this, but when I found out wikipedia has no article on scrunchies I decided writing something usable would be better. A stub is better than nothing. --Alynna 06:32, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Anyone care to post some history of the scrunchie and the popularity in the 80s? I don't know much about it. 69.29.210.124 08:02, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
