Wikipedia:Scope

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an essay; it contains the advice and/or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors. It is not a policy or guideline, and editors are not obliged to follow it.

All information in an article should relate to the scope of that article. Information should be notable.

For example, in an article about a song, it is mentioned that the model on the album cover is gay and lives in the Castro district. This is obviously outside the scope of the article, as this information has nothing to do with the song.
