    [edit] Scott stapp Controverises

Why was Scott stapp controversies removed? All the information contained on the page was correct and no bias was written against him, mearly the facts being presented.

I'm not sure why it was removed but i agree with you. I'll think i'll add it back if someone can't give a good reason for removing the info instead of simply merging it. --M vopni 00:18, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

I have removed the link to the forty second video. It is not to be restored pending further legal action. Danny 16:01, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

what has your life been like and some the the experiances that you have been through

    • Who wrote this article, his publicist or his mom? No mention of the guy being drunk as hell at concerts or on blow? How about the show where fans DEMANDED THEIR MONEY BACK because Stapp was so tore up that he could barely remember the words? I call re-write! -HX

As a former Creed and Stapp fan, it saddens me the path he has chosen. Scott needs to realize alcohol and hard drugs like cocaine are not the answer. Jesus Christ is the answer. Looking back at the whole Creed experience, I can't help but feel ripped off. What a hypocrite.

Trust me, Jesus is not the answer, he's a big gigantic question mark!! Scotts Stapp is merely a hypocrite! I have included updates detailing Stapps mishaps including his appearance on Spike Tv and the Creed fans who sued him after the concert in December 2003 outside of Chicago.

It's people like you that make Christianity the sham that it is; I myself am not a Christian, but if you actually are as you claim to be, shouldn't this be a time of forgiveness and encouragement for Stapp? Isn't it your job as Christians to understand that we all sin and make mistakes, and to help Stapp find his way back into the light? Isn't it entirely possible that Stapp chooses the path of righteousness, but has erred and veered off the path into darkness? With people calling him a hypocrite and publicly flogging him, it's going to be a much harder journey back into the arms of Christ, don't you think? It's sad that an athiest is the one to point this out... Pacian 20:14, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Heheheh, I agree. Bury the hate, y'all! That doesn't mean we should ignore his controversy on the wiki, though. — Phantasy Phanatik | talk | contribs 05:31, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

    [edit] POV

This article is not near wikipedia standards. Im going to put the POV banner and ive already placed a Wikify Banner on here. This article sounds more like a biography, and it is not near the format and way we need to keep wikipedia running. I dont believe anyone who reads this article as their sole source on this person would have a fair and neutral view of them. This is why we need to keep wikipedia neutral. This is far from it. Itll be hard to salvage the information out of it, and hopefully somebody can help me do that. -PlasticMan, 9/13/05

no problem. the stuff was removed.--Alhutch 23:50, 18 September 2005 (UTC)

    [edit] FSU

Just recently somebody reverted an edit about Stapp attending FSU. But according to Yahoo! Music, Stapp did attend FSU. "Stapp had been studying law at Florida State University, but eventually dropped out to pursue music, a decision that led to conflict with his anti-rock & roll parents."Creed Biography on Yahoo! Music ONEder Boy 02:43, 1 January 2006 (UTC)

This page [1] indicates he dropped out of FSU and got kicked out of Lee. This page [2] mentions only FSU as does this [3]. There are many more pages out there stating he attending FSU before dropping out. I don't see why it should be removed from the article. Heezy 20:39, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
He's even listed as an alumni on the FSU page. ONEder Boy 03:51, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

    [edit] You Know... That Story

Shouldn't this have some mention of that incident where someone got his mobile phone number and his sister drove him to some dive so he could pickup and the girl with the mobile phone and everyone else in the bar had a big laugh at him and his wifebeater?

I agree, the Denny's story should be included in his bio, it was notable enough and some mainstream sites picked up the story too. Also, there should be some mention of that concert in chigaco ( at least i think it was chicago) where Stapp was too drunk he couldn't even sing 1 song and the fans sued to try and get a refund from Creed after the show was cancelled. --M vopni 02:55, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

It is a total shame know me personally, I feel a bit protected and non-judged (yet). We as human beings were created "in the image" of God. That means there is something about us that is God-like; we seek a higher power in our spiritual lives, however, since we are never satisfied with having authority over us or sometimes not acting/living responsibly, we tend to make mistakes which some of these mistakes are what seperates us from our Creator and when that happens, it is sin. Now there is a bridge that allows us free choice to be in a right-relationship with our Creator. The bridge is actually God's Son. He did lay down His life, as a perfect sacrifice so that we would not have to pay the penalty for our shortcomings (sin). As He lay down His life for us, He also arose again from the dead (seriously)and by that accomplishment we can actually do the same after death. We can actually live eternally. The seriousness of a decision such as this is so paramount. It is not easy. When you make this choice, you will come to realize you will not face any of this world alone, because there is a 3rd person in this Trinity and that is the Holy Spirit. Not all believers have actually accepted their grace with the proper intentions. Grace is the power that God gives you to say "NO" to sin.

Now, as you all know, it is hard here in this world. As a non-famous person, I can say that my life is not in a fish bowl as Mr. Stapp's. He is attempting to make changes in his life. He is making choices and there is criticism. Any time you attempt to get closer to God and actually try to live for Jesus, trials will see if your faith is strong.....It is only hypocrital if you were not serious and you are trying....However, if you compare yourself to him and think you are better than he, you have made another mistake....Sciptures in God's Living Word state that there is not one righteous...no not one.

It is my prayer that all who read this will receive a blessing and hopefully a tug on your heart (if you do, it is the Holy Spirit). Until you are God, you cannot righteously judge anyone. Say a prayer for Mr. Stapp and may God bless him and strengthen him to be encouraged with the Power of God.

I plan to be at his Ft. Worth concert. I am taking my two kids and a cousin. This man has talent. He is trying to use it to reach someone or all.

Don't you think the evil things he may have done are now at this time coming back to haunt him possibly because he wants to make a stand for the King of kings and Lord of Lords? Just think you may not want to read anymore, but you can bow now or BOW later....

In the end, Jesus is victorious!

Would you calm down, Jesus Freak! There is nothing wrong with putting actual events, like going to a denny's for a booty call with a girl you picked up in a airport bar, in an encyclopedia. It's not bashing it's called presenting facts, that show what kind of person Stapp is.
But since this is the discussion page and I can do a little bit of bashing on here, I will. If you think Scott Stapp is such a great Christian, name ONE thing that he has done in his life to show it. If you can actually think a one thing, I'll tell you 15 that show he is a lying, hypocritical douchebag. Scott Stapp uses Christianity to make money and it's dumb people like you that give him it.
I hope that's he's drunk and can't sing at the Fort Worth concert. Then maybe you'll realize what an asshole he is and you will stop supporting people who use Christianity only for money and power --M vopni 04:52, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Ok there is no doubt he has done some stupid things. However his lyrics come across as completely sincere. If he had been trying to make money from it he would have said he was a Christian instead of just writing lyrics from his heart. Nobody is perfect and he never said he was and I believe this is why he never said he was Christian. So that he he would not be held to the higher standard as you are doing. But I am not interested in arguing about it, just giving some input. Roadhockey 15:19, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Well, I can see that M vopni didn't receive any messages from a "Higher Power". I do sense a lot of anger. Why do you want to give all your energy to bashing someone who appears to be attempting to better his life? You know, the concert in Fort Worth was GREAT!!! He has a message for people and he explained how he wants to change and is different. Whether that is true or what he wants us to believe, it seems to be sincere. The sober as well as the drunken were entertained to the max!! He showed greatly his appreciation in the reception of the audience. Even if it was in a small place, his voice was tremendously powerful.

Are you one of the fans that wanted a refund? If you are, you were probably due that refund. No one can erase their past. Listen to his new CD. The lyrics seem to be about "his" life and how he is wanting to go a different path than he has been on.

No, I am not his mother, but I would be proud of my son, if I were his mother. I supported him before I knew he was a Christian. He is not trying to take anything away from you or Christianity. If you would pay attention, it is becoming a time that people are not very respectful of Christianity and it will become worse as time continues.

I still hope you know where you stand spiritually and it's not a bad thing at all to be a freak for Jesus.

    In love and no harshness,

    209.151.106.226 17:03, 17 March 2006 (UTC)LP>SH>TX

Ok I follow Jesus and I think Scott's songs come from someplace true, though I'm very ashamed of some of the things he's done. He's done stupid stuff even after his new album got released (like the drunken brawl with 311), so I'm not sure of the change he's talking about, I don't see no change, but I'm not judging him, I'm willing to put up with him and give him as many chances as he needs...but the public aint so graceful, and there are Christian kids looking up to him, so God isn't gonna take this stuff lightly either. I'm not saying God won't forgive him or that we shouldn't forgive him, but that's a different matter--the point is, he's a terrible and shameful testimony, as of now, and thats a fact you can't change. He still has years ahead of him and I pray he'll redeem himself in the eyes of the public (though its hard to imagine how). And you DO need to calm down, Jesus freak, you can be a Jesus freak and all, no problem, but please be sensible...don't make Jesus-followers look like dumb people...this is an encyclopedia thats doing what its supposed to do (present facts), not a jury out to bring him down. This should be the least of your worries--rather, go pray for him, so we won't have to enlist more of his misbehaviors on this article. --.phil. 22:37, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Let Those Without Sin Cast The First Stone

I'm sick of people bashing Scott Stapp for every stupid mistake that he's made. All of the people that are complaing about all the mistakes that Scott Stapp has made need to get off their high horses and re-examine their own lives. They spend all this time and engery criticizing other people for mistakes made when they can't even see their own faults. We all make mistakes and that is why we are all human. ONEder Boy 19:24, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

--1HateNo1 01:40, 25 June 2006 (UTC)Like I know, I do not judge creed merely on scott stapp but for the music and the lyrics. I really like creed for the songs they have made. Many have great messages and maybe he didn't intend to follow them but at least he made them for us to follow. By my standards i will not criticize Scott Stapp for anything. LIke 100% of the population in the world, everyone makes mistakes and he has made many. We shouldn't judge his mistakes and bash him for it. He has taken a wrong turn like most of us. What we should judge is his music that he has written.

Okay, Scott Stapp isn't exempt from people's opinions, okay? If he was such a good person, and if Jesus had any influence on him, he really would have turned from situations where he messed things up. Christians, just because you are presumptiuous enough to know what's best for everyone, doesn't mean you have a right to demand a pardon for a fool who belongs to your religion. It's okay, Creed doesn't have much talent, and Alter Bridge is an awesome example of turnaround talent.

i laugh when people say "stop bashing stapp". he's a piece of shit and he's not excused from being ragged on, just as any other piece of shit isn't excused. you act like human trash, then sorry but i'm gonna have to call you out. he acts like a dumb ass so yes, people are gonna bash on him. and if i judged his music, i would have to laugh because creed is a generic rock band, nothing more. they contributed nothing to rock, unless you call rock for the blind sheep rock at all. people act like he shouldn't be judged because he bows to god. he may bow to god, but he still acts like a piece of trash, so fuck him.

To think I used to idolize this moron when I was 14! Man, what some years of experience can do to you, huh? Mailrobot 23:38, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

We are all sinners. However, we are not all douche-bags. 69.214.55.100 07:32, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] What happened to the 311 fight

It should be on this page and not on the Creed (band) page for the sollo fact that it was a fight between Scott Stapp and 311 and not a fight between Creed and 311

    [edit] Album Sales

"However, these standards are very high, as "disappointing" sales in contrast to Creed is a record that has been certified Double Platinum."

This line implies that his album went double platinum. I'm not sure what it sold but if the highest it got on the chart was #19, I'm betting it didn't. Does anybody know how much it actually sold? --M vopni 00:30, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

    [edit] Yellow Ranger

Can someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the page about Thuy Trang(and just about every other source that I can find) lists her death on September 3rd. The according to Scott Stapp's sources, Thuy Trang was one of the seven women that he had sex with the night before (according to the article, on November 14th). Has anyone seen any other information to back up this statement? Also, the footnote 5 looks rather "sketchy".Caval valor 23:02, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

    - - And with that statement, I win a vandalism longetivity dual, besting my friend by at least two days. (Next prize is for a whole week.) Took you guys a little while to find that one, didn't you? Now just get rid of the Power Rangers references you glossed over, and your page of utterly evanescent cultural relevance is good as new.

And before you reply, I'm not wasting my time any more than you are. I'm having a blast with vandalism; you're probably bored to pieces.

    [edit] currently?

CURRENTLY HE IS IN THE PROCESS OF A DIVORCE, I WILL KEEP ANYONE WHO WANTS TO KNOW UPDATED ON IT! YES, WHEN I FOUND OUT, I WAS SAD MYSELF, I AM A MEMBER OF PBF, AND IT SADDEN ME TO TEARS!! Um, whatever people. The guy has an excellent voice. Excellent music that I and my kids luv!!! I am looking forward to going to a concert performed by Mr. Scott Stapp. I believe it would be enjoyable to say the least. It does not bother me what he does on his own time. My behavior does not bother him. :) Live and let Live. ~Swampisland~

In response to the first question, Scott is currently working on a new record. But nobody knows when i well be released. Scott Stapp Rules! 75.85.231.127 23:00, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

    [edit] Clean up

I was wondering if this page needs a clean up tag. This page seems kind of ehh.... compared to other pages on Wiki.

    [edit] Note-worthy criticism?

I've heard various times that, even outside of drug use, Stapp is a genuinely rude person. The following piece is more towards Creed in general, but I thought Jerry Cantrell's comments in an interview with PopMatter were interesting:

PM: What were the tours like with Nickelback and Creed?

JC: Creed was a weird tour. I mean it's kind of strange touring with both of them from a personal standpoint of where I come from and what I've accomplished in my life. It's something I can't control; two bands that are doing pretty well for themselves and they requested us, and it was OK to do but it wasn't my first choice. I would've probably rather done something on my own, but it was with a new label and new management so it was an opportunity, and we took advantage of it -- for better and worse.

Personally speaking, I had a great time with the Nickelback guys who are actually real guys and a young fuckin' hot band, the whole vibe of being around that's exciting. The Creed thing was a little more stale. I just didn't find them very personable guys. I was on tour with them for fuckin' ever and I still hadn't even met em'. When you spend two months together, you generally find some time to fuckin' say hello or whatever. It was really kinda weird in that respect. I'd never been on a tour that was that fuckin' stale on a personal level.
