Scottish Vernacular architecture is often seen as being rooted in Georgian and Victorian architectural conventions - see Edinburgh and Glasgow. However, the distinctive and unique Scottish features include corbelled Gables and Lime Renders - Culross and Aberlady are excellent examples.^{[citation needed]}
