Scottie McClue (real name Archibald Colin Lamont) is a British radio presenter, sometimes referred to as a shock jock.
Mr Lamont was a continuity announcer at ITV Grampian, Scottish and Border Television.[2]
He has presented Scottie McClue's Mega Phone-In on a wide range of independent local radio stations, starting in 1992 at Red Rose Gold in Preston before moving to many other stations throughout the UK including Scot FM in Edinburgh and Yorkshire based Hallam FM.[3] In mid-April 1998, his show was syndicated across the Magic Radio stations then owned by EMAP in Liverpool, Yorkshire and North East England. He then resigned from EMAP to join Century FM. in Manchester[1] He presented on all the Border Television-owned stations including 100-102 Century FMin Newcastle, becoming the late night phone-in presenter on its Salford-based sister station 105.4 Century FM when it launched in September 1998. His pre-launch clashes with managing director John Myers were recorded and documented on the BBC's Trouble at the Top.[4]
He has also been a radio chief executive, particularly at CentreSound 96.7 in Stirling.[5]
His show on Scot FM received so many calls that BT were forced to limit the number of calls on the number.[6] Scottie claims to be the holder of the world record for telephone calls to a radio station (460,000 in one week according to his website).[3]
He was broadcasting on Talk 107, a 24 hour talk radio station based in Edinburgh, Scotland providing radio phone in discussions for its target listening audience in Edinburgh, Fife and the Lothians. His show ran from Sunday to Thursday between the hours on 22.00-01.00 on 107.00 FM (Within the Edinburgh, Fife and Lothians area), DAB and worldwide, live via the internet at www.talk107.co.uk. His radio catchphrase is 'Dinky-Doo!'. As part of a series of changes at the station Scottie presented his last show for Talk 107 on the morning of Friday 14th March 2008. His nighttime show was replaced temporarily with a simulcast of the "The James Whale Show" from London on sister station Talk Sport which after a few weeks was in turn replaced by another show.
