Scosch

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Scosch is a unit of measure used in ancient cultures, specifically the tribes of the Indo-Aryans. The particular amount which was designated by this unit is still debated, but it is generally accepted[who?] that:

  • in length, a scosch is about 1/3rd of the length of the extended pinky
  • in volume (liquid), a scosch is about 3 drops
  • in mass, a scosch is about the weight of a spoonful of sweet peas.
  • in time, a scosch is about 3.1415 seconds, give or take.

General Usage: Typically, the unit is referred to, in present day linguistics usage, as "just a scosch".
