Scorton, Lancashire

Scorton is a small village near the River Wyre, in the Wyre district of Lancashire, England. It is located north of Garstang. The name means "farmstead near a ditch or ravine"[1]
In the 19th century there was a cotton mill in the village[2] and the village had a railway station on the West Coast Main Line from 1841 until 1939.[3] Although the village has three churches there is no pub in the village.[4] Village is home to the Priory Cafe which is a Mecca for cyclists from around the region.
