Charles Roselli is a professor at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. Roselli's research in the development of sexuality has earned national attention several times.
[edit] Education
Roselli earned a Ph.D. from Hahnemann University in 1981. Prior to that, he earned a bachelor's degree from Franklin and Marshall College in 1974.[1]
[edit] Research
Roselli has authored over 75 journal articles. His research is focused on the actions of aromatase in neural tissue and its regulation of steroid-sensitive brain circuitry. Roselli's studies of sex steroid effets on the development of the ovine sexually dimorphic nucleus have received considerable media attention. In particular, Roselli's work supports the claim that homosexuality has a significant biological origin; sexual orientation in sheep is largely "hard-wired" in the brain prior to birth.[2][3]
Roselli's lab also performs research on the effects of saw palmetto berry extracts in possible treatment for prostate cancer.[4]
