Talk:Scispace.net
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I am still setting this up! Hence it is too early for speedy deletion.
Wikipedia has a page with a list of social network services, each of which has a page. These serve all sorts of purposes, and many are commercial. Scispace.net is a new experiment in running a social network service for collaborating scientists. This should be of interest to a lot of people. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mtdove (talk • contribs) 13:45, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- I am now pausing; any comments on how to improve this page to make removal of a speedy deletion notice appropriate would be appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mtdove (talk • contribs) 14:48, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

- it has to become notable first; then it gets an article. It needs 3rd party independent reliable published sources, print or online (but not blogs or press releases), As reviewing administrator, I think the article I've put an underconstruction taq on it to give you a chance, but if it doesnt have some real sourced indication of notability, it will be nominated for deletion. Okay, after reading your comments here and on my own talk page, and pondering for an hour whilst shopping ... Life is stressful enough without wanting to start to justify why wikipedia, and the wider world, would or world not be slightly enriched by an article on scispace. Personally I think it is a nice example that links sensibly from the page of social network sites, but you aren't convinced, and there are enough other things in life to feel strongly about. So please feel free to delete it. If it matters, someone else will write it. Google does a good enough job at informing people who want to read about scispace. I thought it would be fun writing something for wikipedia, but I don't want to do it if it stops being fun! User:Mtdove
- A few days later, I have added two external articles that are in published paper form with web-accessible versions. These may not be enough to make the subject notable, but they are bona fide independent and reliable third-party sources.
