Science Business

Science Business is a media network created to help Europe innovate. It is the first independent news service that creates an environment where innovation professionals in Europe can connect - through its online news coverage, its consultancy and its exclusive networking events. Launched in 2005, Science Business is led by Richard L. Hudson and Peter Wrobel, former managing editors of the Wall Street Journal Europe and science journal Nature. Science Business is read by university, corporate and policy professionals involved in European innovation.

On June 10, 2008, Science Business launched the European Enterprise Awards. The awards mark the first pan-European program to recognize academic entrepreneurs. The program will focus on university spin-outs and their founders. http://www.insead.edu/events/index.cfm

[edit] Science Business Innovation Board

The innovation board consists of a blue-ribbon panel of innovation experts - leaders in European academia, industry and policy - which meets two times a year to discuss, review and make recommendations on innovation policy. Members of the innovation board include: Pat Cox, former president of the European Parliament; Jean-Philippe Courtois, President of Microsoft International; Esko Aho, president of Finnish innovation fund SITRA and former prime minister of Finland; Roch Doliveux, CEO of Belgian pharma UCB; Dean J. Frank Brown of INSEAD; Helmut Schühsler, Managing Partner, TVM Capital and Chairman of the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association; and President Harriet Wallberg-Henriksson of Karolinska Institutet.The meetings of the innovation board have produced popular reports on European innovation including:"Innovation Manifesto: 9 ideas to bridge the gap between industry and academia - and make Europe more competitive in global technology," "Innovation: the Demand Side", "The Science of Thinking" and "Born to Grow".
