- Rubbish! The School Certificate is not being discontinued. WWGB 11:25, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

- Thank you for your illuminating comment, anonymous editor. I can see that you subscribe to the philosophy that "if-it-is-in-the-newspaper-then-it-must-be-correct". Such gullibility ...

- It's only a proposal. Nothing has actually been done and it seems that until Kevin Rudd wins and implements his national curriculum that nothing will really happen. ajdlinux 10:24, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
- Education is a constitutional responsibility of state governments. Neither John Howard nor Kevin Rudd has the power to change this. WWGB 12:34, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, but the constitution gives the states the power to refer matters to the Commonwealth, and federal leaders can persuade state leaders to hand power over. Or, of course, they can just persuade the states to all pass similar legislation. ajdlinux 06:57, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Abolition?
Okay, I hear rumours of the SC's abolition at least once a year, sometimes twice. So I have attempted to be definitive by adding a section on the McGaw report and the BOS's response thereto. No abolition is coming, and until the BOS says otherwise, how about we leave it that way? :) Johno (talk) 06:39, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
