I am a registered medical practitioner of some 38 years experience. I have seen schizophrenia which was quite clearly substance induced, in that it followed a relapsing pattern exactly parallelling the patients' usage of illegal substances. Comments?--Anthony.bradbury 22:02, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

'The reason for adding this diagnosis is to avoid labelling people as having schizophrenia after a brief period of symptoms' Oh really?? Also deleted 'caused by organic failure', as the article also says casuse is unknown... changing back as such. i wrote my undrgrad dissertation on 'illness' and would be surprised if this was the reason for the diagnosis. all you need is a reference friend :)
