School Loop is an online application that is a communicator for students and parents to communicate with their teachers. It is an alternate way of e-mail around the school system. Staff and can access each student’s workload and grades. Digital lockers help members store and share files. And every evening, assignments and grades are emailed home. Only Middle schools and High schools are included in this online application.

School Loop was created by Mark Gross, a school teacher, and a parent, to show homework and online advice from their teachers. Tom Burns is an engineer and he helped Gross with the invention of School Loop.

[edit] How to Sign Up

Your school is in charge of School Loop. If desired to have this service, contact your school. Then if the school receives this service, you can sign up for School Loop. You're required to give your Student ID (usually you can get this at the school), Name, Email (for daily emails for homework assignments), and password.

Schools and teachers can post homework for students, school announcements, and downloads. Teachers can have a website inside schoolloop, where they can post class-specific information. Students can use Schoolloop to look up their homework, grades and e-mail their teachers. The system provides a calendar system for assignment due-dates. Students can also store files in a digital locker for later use. Groups can also be formed by a students with the permission of a teacher or a staff member. Parents can sign up to schoolloop to keep track of their child's progress. Parents can check their child's homework, assignments and grades.

The Schoolloop email system is called "LoopMail". Users can send e-mail only to other Schoolloop users. Students signed up to School Loop will receive an email daily which shows the student's current grades and homework. If a user LoopMails another user, the LoopMail is sent to both the LoopMail inbox and the recipient's regular e-mail inbox. The LoopMail system contains an anti-profanity filter, though this can still be bypassed by using internet slang.

School Loop's No Fail Zone is an attitude about achievement, a sense of purpose and direction, measurable by reducing F rates, increasing performance on standardized tests, retaining teachers, and helping students and parents take an active role in education.
