[edit] Introduction

Sceptre is a four-piece Thrash metal band from Mumbai, India. Having developed a formidable reputation with their live shows they have always been crowd pullers. They have been on the local metal scene for 10 years. They have completed a decade this year. Teemeer, Aniket n Janus officially got together as a band on December 1, 1998 and within a couple of weeks they were playing their first gig at IIT, Mumbai. They've have been going strong ever since.

1] Winners at Hoirizons 2000, (the annual rock competition at RAIT, New Bombay).

Their music slips most comfortably into the thrash-metal genre.

The Single "Lost Empire" was featured on the Deep Throat CD released by Throatlatch records. Another single "Nuclear" was on the FOK album a compilation of songs by Mumbai bands by Hangar Records. "Revolution" was featured on FOK-3 by Hangar Records.

Their self-titled EP containing 4 songs has made a considerable impact on the underground rock scene in India and currently the band is workin on new original material for their forthcoming album.

Apart from Mumbai they have headlined and played at numerous gigs in various colleges in and around : Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Manipal, Panvel, Pondicherry, Pune, Raigad and Assam.

Their gig at Ruia College, Mumbai, in December 2007, was one of the performances worth watching.

Their recent performance was at SIES graduate school of technology at Nerul on 18 March, 2008.

People look forward to see more of them in the city and all around. They have all it takes to be a really good band. All the best to them always!
