Talk:Saxon (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Just noticed that vyvyan in The Young Ones wears a saxon tshirt through the series. Could be added somewhere but iono
Err..
Saxon *are* Spinal Tap.. in a way..
It was Saxon that Rob Reiner, et al, toured with, and it was Saxon who got Lost Backstage, etc...
This should be mentioned.
also (ex-)Darkness bass player Frankie Poullain owes much of his style to Steve Dawson.
This article is good, nice seeing you covered a lot of the members as well! But a little update couldn't be wrong (Dubai as said below) Grinder0-0 14:56, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Dubain controversy
Why isn't the Dubai thing mentioned in the article? Surely it is a topic that should be mentioned when discussing the band. A banned band in 2006? Surely worth a mention. 82.181.208.26 10:12, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Bruce Gaines
Hi, I'm a freelance Stagehand. I've worked with a Sound Engineer called Bruce Gaines. He claimed to be ex-drummer from Saxon, but we are not sure - he did not seem to be that profficient a drummer.
Can anyone clarify?
I met Bruce a few times and heard the same thing,he said he played session and live for them a few times but i can find no reference of him anywhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.43.168.90 (talk) 08:41, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Saxon and Harvey Goldsmith
Is anyone going to add anything about the collaboration as seen on TV in "Get your act together"?
-I'm going to edit this section soon. That programme was absolutely appaling - a complete straw-man argument if ever there was one. Saxon have played to much bigger crowds in the past 15 years than the 1800 the Sheffield Arena can contain, and in England too no less. Xzamuel 02:10, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] _The Very Best Saxon Album Ever_
I recently saw this CD at the library, but it's not mentioned in the discography.
It's a compilation by EMI http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=103797 --Neo139 (talk) 02:35, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Saxon Logo.png
Image:Saxon Logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Sheffield city hall capacity...
...is listed in the brief note about the Harvey Goldsmith show as 20,000. Think it is more like 2,000 ant this is either a typo or just an error. Short of Earls Court/O2 arena I don't think any indoor venues hold 20,000 in th UK. Does anyone know the actual capacity of the venue? Sanctuary73 12:21, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
it's a typo Sheffield city hall capacity is 2271 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.43.168.90 (talk) 08:42, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Even for this band, 2000 wouldn't mean much. And there are venues I know of that go up to 18k, 20k isn't far off. I think it would be possible. (The Elfoid (talk) 00:40, 24 November 2007 (UTC))
[edit] Oliver/Dawson Saxon
Needs it's own page. I put information in here, in the hope of splitting it up later. But I've ended up not having time (stupid Van Halen reunion ruining my attempt at fixing up the Van Halen page by dramatically upping the workload). Someone do it please!(The Elfoid (talk) 00:38, 24 November 2007 (UTC))
