[edit] Summary

Photograph of Banksia serrata in flower. Photo taken by myself.

These Saw Banksias dominate the heathland (known colloquially as "wallum country" ) of Broadwater National Park in northern New South Wales and they flower regularly in summer time. They provide food for both birds and varieties of possum, as well as act as stabilisers for the swales and dunes of the coast.
