[edit] Please, state notability in the first paragraph

Not everybody's born in the UK or the USA, or knows British culture. I felt on this article and wondered why in the world we had an article about a damn street. The second paragraph suggests to me it could be widely known in the UK for its bespoke tailoring. Is it true? The reader cannot know, only guess it... Furthermore, I came to this Talk Page and found something about The Beatles!

Well, only please say something like "Savile Row is a road in [...] known in the UK for [...] and by Beatles fans for being [...]". Thanks --euyyn 16:51, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pronunciation?

Non-Brits would like to know how to pronounce the name of this street. We see it in print, from time to time. It would be helpful to know which syllable gets the emphasis. And whether the 2nd syllable is "vill" or "vile". 4.236.15.77 08:48, 19 May 2007 (UTC) dumb yank

[edit] brand name

Wasn't there a private-label Macy's or J.C. Penny menswear brand also called Savile Row? Wl219 06:50, 31 August 2007

[edit] Link

There are a number of links under the sub-heading "Other tailors". There is a Savile Row tailor, Jasper Littman, who's site is more informative than anything else I've found about the process of bespoke tailoring. It is www.jasperlittman.co.uk I recommend including a link to this site.--Ant Bates (talk) 13:00, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
