Savogna d'Isonzo (Slovenian: Sovodnje ob Soči) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Gorizia in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 35 km northwest of Trieste and about 3 km southwest of Gorizia, on the border with Slovenia. It is located at the conjunctions Kras Plateau and the Vipava Valley. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,750 and an area of 16.4 km².[1] The vast majority of the population are of Slovenian ethnicity.
The municipality of Savogna d'Isonzo contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Gabria, Peci, Rupa, San Michele del Carso, Castel Rubbia, Monte San Michele, Cotici Superiore, and Cotici Inferiore.
Savogna d'Isonzo borders the following municipalities: Doberdò del Lago, Farra d'Isonzo, Gorizia, Miren-Kostanjevica (Slovenia), Nova Gorica (Slovenia), Sagrado.
