Sasovo

Sasovo (Russian: Са́сово) is a town in Ryazan Oblast, Russia, located on the Tsna River (Oka's basin) some 184 km southeast of Ryazan. Population: 30,000 (2005 est.); 30,736 (2002 Census).

Sasovo was founded in 1642 and granted town status in 1926.

In early XVII century the village Sasovo was owned by descendants of Siberian Khan Kuchum that also ruled in Kasim khanate at that time.
