Ravelry is a social networking web application for storing and sharing fiber art projects, yarn and tool inventories, etc.
Ravelry went live on May 2, 2007. By February 2008 over 80,000 members[1] have signed up, and there remains an ongoing waiting list of over 5,000 members[2]. As the site is still under development, users who sign up enter a queue and are admitted to the site at a rate of 800-1000 members per day[3].

- Organizational tools for keeping track of yarn ('stash') and tools a user owns. Other users can then view/share this information.
- Project planning capabilities to organize, plan, and share projects. Users can view/discuss each other's projects, search through other people's completed and in-progress projects, and build a queue of projects they would like to complete themselves.
