Sardinian Democratic Union

The Sardinian Democratic Union - Nationalist Project (Unione Democratica Sarda - Progetto Nazionalitario, UDS) is a regionalist christian democratic party.

Its leader is Mario Floris, former Christian Democrat leader in the Regional Council and President of the Region from 1999 to 2001.

It was founded in 1998 as the Sardinian section of Democratic Union for the Republic of Francesco Cossiga, former President of the Italian Republic and Prime Minister, himself from Sardinia.

UDS is affiliated to the House of Freedoms coalition. In the 2004 regional election, it scored 3.9% and elected 2 deputies to the Regional Council.
