Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan Abbassi(Sardar Atiq) is a Kashmiri (AJK) politician and President of Muslim Conference. He is elected as Prime Minister of AJK from 24th July 2006. However, the opposition parties allege that the election was severely rigged by Pakistan government that is believed to control the all political, administrative and economic affairs of the sate despite its so called separate status The opposition parties, including PPP, Peoples Muslim League blamed Musharaf government for manipulating the election result to bring pro establishment Muslim conference,headed by Sardar Atique .

Son of renowned political, social, intellectual figure and founding member of “All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference” (a political party established in year 1932 in British India) Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan. Sardar Quyyam has the unique distinction of serving as Prime Minister and President of Azad Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
He was born in 21st January, 1955 at Ghaziabad, Dhirkot, District Bagh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

He holds Masters Degree in International Relations & has has qualified the Arabic Language (two years course) from renowned Madina University Saudi Arabia. he is a famous leader.

Ten points proposal presented before the United Nations, OIC Foreign Minister Conference Contact Group in UN HQ's New York, held on September 20-25, 2006 over Kashmir issue were adopted by the annual coordinating meeting of the 57 member countries of OIC.
He led many political and diplomatic missions on sensitive regional issues to the United Nations, Middle East, Europe, The United States of America, and Asia and achieved excellent results compatible to the desires of the masses.
There is strong criticism among the masses against the foreign visits of Sardar Atique who believes that a huge amount from the national exchequer has been spent on his abroad visits at a time when the people affected by the devastating earthquake of October 8,2005 have not been facilitated,despite billion of funds sponsored by international community.

Controversy on his son illegal visit to abroad
MUZZAFARABAD: Azad Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly witnessed pandemonium on Thursday when legislators from ruling Muslim Conference (MC) pounced upon an opposition member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Tahir Khokhar.
Khokhar drew the wrath of members of the treasury benches when he tried to raise the issue of foreign visit of Usman Attique, the son of AJK Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan, at government expense.
Minister of Auqaf Sahibzada Hamid Raza, along with another ruling party member Munsif Dad, attacked Khokhar. The opposition members stood on their seats, shouted and staged a walkout. They later held a press conference and demanded suspension of the unruly members.
