Sara Thunebro born (April 26, 1979) in Eskilstuna, Sweden, is a female footballer. She currently plays as a defender for Djurgårdens IF (Damallsvenskan) and the Swedish women's national team.

Thunebro began playing at the age of 6, eventually rising to the youth club Viljan IK. She advanced through the Damallsvenskan to one of the top tier teams Djurgårdens IF. With Thunebro on the team, they have won the Swedish Championships in 2003 and 2004. Djurgårdens IF has also won the Swedish Cup during the 2004 and 2005 seasons in order to qualify for the UEFA Women's Cup. They were runners-up on both occasions. Her trademark on the field is her white headband.
