SAO 49936 is a 9th magnitude star in the constellation Cygnus. It is a blue giant star of the spectral type B6III, meaning its surface temperature is 11,000 to 25,000 kelvin. It is therefore much larger, hotter, and brighter than our Sun.[1] It can be found within one degree of the star Deneb.[2]
