  • What are archaeologists looking for? : Archaeologists seek to shed light on how a culture functioned by examining how they made use of technology, their demography, how their economy functioned, and how they organized themselves within their enviroment. Occasionally written artifacts are recovered, which can often be read by those who study inscriptions (epigraphy) and handwriting (palaeography). The results of the information gathered by archaeologists is then used in a number of ways by other scholars, such as historians, who use the information along with the study of primary sources and other research to write history.
