[edit] In the Eyes of the Departing Soul

I've removed this section from the article death. There are two minor points - the title shouldn't be capitalized (see Wikipedia:Naming conventions, and the section should be placed in one of the existing sections (the beginning of the culture section would probably be most appropriate), but these are not my reasons for removing the section.

We do need a section on the period leading up to death, but this one isn't written in an encyclopedic way - it's too much like a personal essay. The title needs to be something more standardized than expressive, like 'Period leading up to death' for example. I'm not sure how accurate the material is for a typical death, but it seems very generalized. I'm sure not every person dies in that fashion. The other major, and this is a major concern, is that it's very religious/spiritual in nature. It almost goes to the point of asserting that an afterlife of some sort exists. How does this material apply to a dying person who is a materialistic atheist who doesn't believe in the soul?

Such a section, ideally, should also include the impact on family members, friends etc.

Please take these points into consideration if you wish to add this material to Wikipedia. You haven't done anything wrong, but material has to meet certain standards before it can be included. If you need any help about this feel free to ask me on my talk page and I'll do my best to be of help. Richard001 23:53, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
