A tag has been placed on Math (god), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. –King Bee (T • C) 15:19, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- Nice job on the redirect! The newer article that you created is vastly superior to the old one. I see you're new at the wiki, and I applaud you for a job well done. –King Bee (T • C) 15:40, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Page moves
Hi Sanddef. Thanks for your help in cleaning up some of the Welsh mythology pages. However, you created new pages simply by doing cut-and-paste moves. The proper way to move a page is to the "move" tab at the top (to the right of the "edit" tab). This preserves the page history (see Wikipedia:How to rename (move) a page for more details). I've gone around and tried to patch up the work you did, but I'm not sure all your later edits (after you re-created the pages) were done, so please go back and examine the pages to make sure. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 17:00, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. Unfortunately I can't locate any "Move" tab, and I have had to move the text of "Dylan Eil Ton" to "Dylan Eil Don" by cutting and pasting again. ----Sanddef
- That's probably because you're too new of a user. Wait a few days before trying to do these and that tab will appear for you. In the meantime, please refrain from doing cut-and-paste moves because it's just a headache to take care of. Also, please remember to sign your posts on talk pages with four tildes (~~~~, see Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages). Thanks! howcheng {chat} 18:12, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

- Same thing. Please, do not move pages by cutting and pasting. It destroys the page history. I reverted your move of Bran the Blessed and Eurosswydd, not because I necessarily disagree, but there are more appropriate ways to move pages. Besides these technical squibbles, it's good to see another user on board who's interested in Welsh mythology and other matters!--Cúchullain t/c 06:38, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

I figured as much. Just so you know, even after you get the "move" button, some of the pages will have to be moved by requested moves, for technical reasons (the software won't allow a move to a different title if there's page history there, unless you're an administrator and have additional options.) It can be frustrating, but don't worry. Also keep in mind that Wikipedia isn't always concerned with which name is "correct", but which is the most common name for the English-speaking audience. For instance, Genghis Khan is not at Chinggis Khan, though that may be more correct. I'll see if there's more I can do tomorrow.--Cúchullain t/c 07:04, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
- Sanddef, we've told you about the cut and paste moves. If you want to move pages that are obstructed, as is the case with Eurosswydd/Euroswydd, you'll have to go to Wikipedia:Requested moves, specifically here. In this case, you might could list it at uncontroversial proposals. However, I thought the correct spelling was Euroswyd, the double D coming from a hypothetical link to the word Oswydd (enemy). --Cúchullain t/c 23:31, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

- That's fine. For Euroswydd, I'd just follow the instructions at requested moves. I'll do it for you, if you'd like. The single "s" is more common than the double "ss" on the Internet, but that may be because we've had the page there for five years. The single "d" is much less common that either; it may be technically incorrect (I'm not 100% sure) but it seems the double "dd" is much more common nowadays.--Cúchullain t/c 21:03, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
