[edit] The siting of the Council House

West Bromwich is the largest town in Sandwell, however due to the rivalry between West Bromwich and Smethwick (former centres of West Bromwich and Warley respectively) the council headquarters are based in Oldbury. -- Any proof of this, this to me (living in Sandwell) sounds just like a load of nonsense! --81.174.250.220 16:02, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

The address, as taken from their homepage reads: Sandwell Council House, Oldbury, West Midlands B69 3DE

[edit] Sandwell the settlement

It may be worth incorporating something about Sandwell the place, as opposed to the valley or Priory. Sandwell itself is effectively the area between Soho, Handsworth, Smethwick, and Junction 1 of the M5, at the southern end of Sandwell Valley. DWaterson 13:39, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

It may well be worth putting something in about the slightly confusing situation that Sandwell is also the name a former ward of Birmingham, just over the border from Sandwell MBC. Fingerpuppet 15:16, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
