I also cannot find her valid birthday... About website posts it as 30 November 1970, while IMDb has it as 20 July 1971. And as the earlier user stated, IMDb has changed that date back and forth. Does anyone have a reference to an actual, credible record? But because her official website posts her DOB as 20 July 1971, I believe we should keep it as that, for the mean time. 1971 cannot possibly be here birth year. My wife was in a drama class with her in high school in Ottawa. My wife was born in 1968 and Sandra Oh was a grade ahead of her, meaning she was likely born in 1967. She may have skipped a grade, and thus have been born in 1968, but it's unlikely she was two or more grades ahead of my wife, making a birth year of 1969 or later EXTREMELY unlikely. 1967 is our best bet! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dwolgel (talk • contribs) 17:50, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Most sources on the Internet give her birthdate as July 20, 1971. Some give it as November 30, 1970. None of these are official sources, however, and the bio on her official site is silent on the matter. I have sent an e-mail to United Talent (her agency) requesting confirmation. As the majority of sources currently use the 1971 date, I think we should stick with that until we find a reliable source that states otherwise .Sunray 21:35, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

A lie repeated over and over in cyberspace is still a lie. It is impossible that Sandra Oh was born in 1971. As I said, she was a year ahead of my wife at Sir Robert Borden high, which means she was likely born in 1967. If she skipped a grade, she could have been born in 1968; two grades, in 1969; three grades, in 1970. If she were born in 1971, she would have had to have skipped four full grades to be ahead of my wife in school. She was not born in 1971. Also, sandraoh.com looks like a fan site to me. Also, United Talent can't be trusted necessarily, since, unfortunately, in Hollywood, a 36-year-old actress is more bankable than a 40-year-old, meaning the agent/agency that represents her has a vested interest in saying she was born in 1971. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dwolgel (talk • contribs) 13:51, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

i have little doubt that every claim you make may indeed be accurate. however, changes cannot be made to wikipaedia without substantiation and a clear violation of policy. if you can show that he birth is indeed what you say it is, simply provide a reliable source. --emerson7 | Talk 15:15, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

I am puzzled by the frequent vandalism of this page, really hostile and silly remarks about Ms Oh's appearance. Does anyone have any insight as to why people do such things? Is there any research on the subject? Bellagio99 14:54, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm not an expert on the subject, but I'll contribute my own personal inclinations on the matter. The gist of it is that, to Asian or Asian-American eyes, Sandra Oh is not in the least attractive, and certainly not attractive enough to merit People's top 50 or all the attention that she's been getting from the (White-dominated) media. Acting talent aside, Asians/Asian-Americans feel that such compliments could and should be paid to more deserving individuals, and that, to put it frankly, non-Asians are a poor judge of Asian beauty. Hence the hostility. Note: I understand this is borderline "personal opinion," but I only posted it as a plausible response to the above question. Sophrosune (talk) 15:58, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

By that same token, were a Korean entertainment magazine to do a "50 most beautiful people" issue, should they only choose Koreans? By your argument, Koreans are unable to identify white or black beauty, then. Jwigton 06:29, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

"Sandra Oh is not in the least attractive." That's really harsh, and presumptuous to speak for the majority of the world's population. Sandra Oh is not any less attractive than Julia Roberts or Drew Barrymore (who made People's list). To be sure, I don't think Sandra Oh is remarkable beautiful, but I'm sure there are more than 50 people in the world more beautiful than any of the people the People magazine selected. Maybe it's not that non-Asians are poor judges of beauty but that People magazine is a poor judge of beauty. The whole ranking is pretty goofy to begin with so it's a shame that same people are so rude to an actress who seems like a decent human being. Penser (talk) 03:47, 3 April 2008 (UTC)penser

What a terrible photograph: (1) the angle obscures most of her face and what's left is half-covered with hair; (2) it's a still shot of a conversation she's having with someone about five miles out of frame; (3) the overall crappy quality screams "camera phone."
