The California Seals team that began in the NHL was stocked by a draft conducted by the NHL. It was not the same group of players that played in the Western Hockey League at all. Another play by play announcer of the Seals was Roy Storey. He was well-known in the Bay Area at the time for his dramatic calls of Seals hockey games.
