Santana High School, located in Santee, California, is part of the Grossmont Union High School District. The school serves 1,750 students in grades 9-12, as well as 84 faculty members.
The school opened on September 20, 1965, and designates itself as the "Home of Scholars and Champions". The school colors are purple and gold. The athletic teams are known as the Sultans.
The school held a 20-year winning streak in the Grossmont North League Gymnastics Championship from 1970 to 1989 and also is one side of a heated crosstown rivalry with West Hills High School.
Santana High School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and in 1990 was recognized as a California Distinguished School.

School shooting
The school was the site of a school shooting which occurred there on March 5, 2001, when fifteen-year old Santana High student Charles Andrew Williams opened fire with a pistol, killing fellow students Randy Gordon and Bryan Zuckor, and wounding 13 others. The two adults who were shot were a student teacher and a young security supervisor.
