Sandyford, Newcastle upon Tyne

Sandyford is located in the east end of Newcastle upon Tyne. It is bordered by the City Centre and the districts of Jesmond and Heaton.

Sandyford is a largely student dominated area of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne due to its close proximity to the two Universities in the city, Newcastle and Northumbria.

Sandyford is home to several local commodities, such as; a 'Spar' shop, an Italian bistro, an Italian restaurant, an Italian sandwich shop. There is a futher two other sandwich shops, an award winning fish'n'chip shop, a Chinese takeaway, a post office and a car garage. It's similar to both Heaton and Jesmond in terms of street layout and architecture. The suburb also contains 4 hairdressers all of good quality.
