[edit] His Music

Sandipan’s presentation of Khayal and Thumri chiefly characterises the Kirana Gharana known for
its all- pervasive tunefulness, a serene reposeful movement of feeling and a caressive approach.
Also found in his music the glimpses of the finer nuances of a number of other principal gharanas
which goes to enrich his music manifold and which also speaks of a very receptive mindset
in him in imbibing anything of quality. This is precisely what has prompted him to receive valuable
guidance from the much revered Pandit Ram Ashraye Jha of the Gwalior Gharana, also the
former Head of the Department of Hindustani Classical Music of the Allahabad University.
