San Jose High Academy

San Jose High Academy (SJHA) is the second oldest public high school in California and was founded in 1863.[1] The school mascot is the Bulldog.

The school has offered the International Baccalaureate program since 1985. Before 1985, San Jose High Academy was known as San Jose High School. In 2005, San Jose High was ranked 218th on Newsweek's list of America's top one thousand high schools[1]. The 2006 edition lists San Jose in position 224 [2]. The 2007 edition lists San Jose in position 589. San Jose High Academy is known for the Big Bone Game with Abraham Lincoln High School (San Jose, California), its cross-town rival. The game is played every Thanksgiving at San Jose City College.
