San Francisco International Airport is a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station on the Pittsburg/Bay Point – SFO Line located inside San Francisco International Airport.

The station is located on level 3 of the International Terminal, next to Parking Garage G. There are two entrances and exits – one on level 3, adjacent to the grand foyer off the north side of the International Terminal; and the other is a level up at the Garage G/BART AirTrain station.

The station is configured as a terminus station. Trains enter from an elevated wye from the west side of Highway 101. There are three tracks and corresponding bay platforms. BART traffic to and from SFO has not been as high as originally anticipated, so only the two outer tracks are currently used. The middle track will be put into service if BART traffic rises enough to necessitate it.[citation needed]

On January 1, 2008, BART eliminated direct service between the SFO station and Millbrae (except for a few trips scheduled during the first and last hour of service each day). Passengers traveling between SFO and Millbrae now need to make a timed transfer at San Bruno.[2][1]

Service at this station began on June 22, 2003. [2]
