San Fernando Stakes

The San Fernando Stakes is an American race for thoroughbred horses run at Santa Anita Park each year. It's a Grade II event open to horses, age four and up, willing to race one and one-sixteenth miles on the dirt.
The San Fernando is the second leg of Santa Anita Park's Strub Series.
First run in 1952, the inaugural event was won by C.V. Whitney's 1951 Horse of the Year, Counterpoint.
The San Fernando currently carries a purse of $200,000.
Silver Charm won this race in 1998.
