San Diego Correctional Facility

The San Diego Correctional Facility is a Minimum/Medium Security mixed-gender California State Prison facility managed by Corrections Corporation of America since June 1998.
The San Diego Correctional Facility is located in the east/southerly section of the County of San Diego with the population reaching 2.99 million, and is approximately 25 miles from the City of San Diego. The facility is situated in the foothills of Otay Mesa overlooking the Mexican border.
Fred Lawrence was named Warden of San Diego Correctional Facility in October 2007. Previously he served as Warden at CCA's Leavenworth Detention Center from March 2001 to October 2007. He has also served as Assistant Warden of CCA's California City Correctional Center in California. Lawrence joined the company in 1992 as a Correctional Officer at Winn Correctional Center. He transferred to Eloy Detention Center in 1997 and was then promoted to Chief of Security of that facility.
