[edit] "Acclaimed translation"

Many critics regard the prose style of the Putnam translation as atrocious, and suggest that the translation's "acclaim" was generated by Putnam's fellow Marxists in the 1930s without regard to its real merits or lack thereof. I will dig up some citations to this effect and return to this page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 4.152.105.167 (talk • contribs) 07:42, September 7, 2006 (UTC)

All that 1930s acclaim would have been quite prophetic considering Putnam didn't do the translation until 1949! --Blainster 19:36, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
