Unless his first name from birth was "Captain", I believe this should be moved to "Samuel Holland". -- Infrogmation 18:43, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)


There is a lot of wrong information about Samuel Holland's early years in the Netherlands. He was NOT born in Nijmegen but in Deventer and not in 1728 but in 1729. He was baptized on 22 September 1729 in the small Lutheran Church in the Dutch town of Deventer in the Province of Overijssel. The city then had a population of about 7000 (today 95.600).
