[edit] Response
- The front buttons never make any noise when you press them.
- you can put the phone into silent mode, which uses vibrating alerts for everything with one exception:
- It is impossible to disable the camera shutter sound

I have tried converting to 3gp and Mp4 in the PC media manager program that Samsung provides. I have converted to every size and file extension offered, and still get the same result. After conversion, I upload to the phone, and all I see is the video player playing the prism screen, and I hear the sound of the movie and that's it. Please help. - added by 139.161.2.10 (Talk) on February 14 2007 at 16:17 CST
[edit] Video Conversion Using SUPER Video Converter
The link for this converter is at the bottom of the main article page
[edit] This will result in video which is approximately 100MB per hour
For Widescreen Video (16:9):
- Select an output container of mp4
- Change the codec to XviD
- Select 'Use DirectShow'
- Click the 'D' to open up the DireectShow options
- Select 'Force a Custom VideoScale Size'
- Set it to 320x180
- Adjust the following Video Properties:
- Ignore the 'Video Scale Size', as it is ignored due to the DirectShow override
- Change the frames per second to 12.5
- Change the Bitrate to 128
- Adjust audio to the following parameters:
- Sampling rate: 16000
- Channels: 1
- Bitrate: 24
- Drag a video file into SUPER
- Click 'Encode (Active Files)'
For Normal Video (3:4):
- Same as above except change the following:
- Do not check 'Force a Custom VideoScale Size'
- Instead, set the 'Video Scale Size' setting to 320x240
I had added this to the main article under tips and tricks, but it seems someone commented that section out. Pomokey 04:53, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Samsungsync red.gif
Image:Samsungsync red.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] False MicroSD capacity info
" It also has a MicroSD memory card slot which, at the present time, has a capacity of 2Gb that adds storage for music, applications and user data. " This is false. It certainly takes a 1GB card (i.e. 8Gb). bit != Byte; b=bit; B=Byte. According to an ad on ebay, it'll take a 4GB card too[1]. I might buy a card and try it to see and come back to update the page. --IReceivedDeathThreats (talk) 15:57, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
