[edit] Arsenal section

he will leave france. not to arsenal definately however. Liverpool have first option on him due to cisse deal. Should be removed as just gossip from newspapers. Remove last section, and give title 'Future' —Preceding unsigned comment added by Giddersboy (talkcontribs) 19:52, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

this article is full of opinion and badly sourced and referenced. the arsenal section is completely irrelevant as he has not signed a contract with the club. what arsen wenger thinks of any player outside his squad is not of interest to an encyclopedia. may i suggest removing the whole arsenal section? Agreed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.217.50.3 (talk) 15:53, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

I'd go along with that. Until anything is confirmed its complete speculation. I agree it should be removed. Quincy042 (talk) 16:36, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Do you guys have nothing better to do!Why not leave it! It makes interesting reading!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.113.64.149 (talk) 12:17, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
The information on wikipedia is meant to be fact based, not rumour based. Sorry.Bloc rock (talk) 22:14, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

We should not list him as being an "Arsenal player" in any form until an official body confirms the transfer - such as Marseille's official site, Arsenal's official site, there is a news article on UEFA.com or FIFA.com, etc. Specifically, Goal.com and English tabloids (like News of the World) are extremely unreliable - in fact Goal.com just steals articles from other sources, which in turn steal articles from reputable sources like L'equipe and Skysports, often mistranslating or exaggerating them in the process. ugen64 (talk) 03:57, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Don't list him as an Arsenal player just yet but there are 2 reliable sources which confirm he will leave France. http://www.football.fr/cmc/scanner/football/200822/om-bernes-confirme-le-depart-de-nasri-a-arsenal_182131.html

if you ask me who ever wrote this shit is a dickhead. U cant go writting shit like this till its happend so plz just stop it. What will b will b

Again there is vandalism. Would it be a good idea to increase the protection? The telegraph is a good source but Arsenal have come out and said this deal is still premature. Until it is confirmed - leave this page alone. Shimmy21 (talk) 17:11, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

he currently passed a medical he will sign a four year deal! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.77.138.219 (talk) 21:22, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

whoa whoa whoa who wrote this shit! hes not an arsenal player yet; do you know anything about transfers and tabloids? until you can get a link from arsenal's website, with THEIR WEBSITE confirming him signed, you cant do this! sorry mate, but thats how it goes, the tabloids make this stuff up all the time!

The sheer volume of reliable sources (L'Equipe, France Football, BBC, Sky Sports) means this transfer is about 99% likely to happen. But until it's announced officially, we can only report it as speculation! ugen64 (talk) 17:26, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

86.27.78.7 (talk) 18:32, 31 May 2008 (UTC) Someone should put in at least a part about the possible transfer to Arsenal, as he said himself it was 99% complete and will be done before EURO 2008. Maybe still under Club Career but have a part with the quotes from Samir and Arsene Wenger so as people visiting the page are aware of the iminent transfer and will know of the situation incase they were wondering.

Nasri signed for arsenal end of :) he will sign after the euros —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.44.43.169 (talk) 09:42, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Arsenal F.C.

There has been a few rumors about him singing a deal with Arsenal. Arsene Wenger said it will be delayed unitl after the Euros. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.66.161.227 (talk) 04:18, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

I don't really understand the removal of perfectly legitimate, sourced data involving this player. It cannot fall under WP:CRYSTAL because the two quotes are actual events that happened in real life. Nobody claims the player has yet moved to Arsenal - I have personally been removing any such claims from the intro or infobox myself. The fact is, many sources that I would trust ahead of Wikipedia when it comes to football data (eg. this and that) consider the transfer a done deal, while Wikipedia doesn't even mention the speculation. We must apply guidelines, especially, but also policies on a case-by-case basis - if all we had were tabloid articles and agent quotes, then sure, it's not too solid. But not only do we have reliable media sources to go off of, but we also have a quote from Wenger, who is normally very reticent about discussing potential transfers, in or out. So the fact that he said "I am interested in him" and "I hope to get the deal concluded after EURO 2008" is sufficient, in my opinion, to make the speculation a notable topic. Is it recentism? I suppose you could make that argument pretty reasonably, but in my opinion, this transfer has gone so far down the road to completion that even if it falls through in the end, it's notable enough to warrant a mention anyway (i.e. "he was supposed to move to Arsenal in June 2008 but the transfer fell through because of X reason"). ugen64 (talk) 22:36, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
