[edit] The Biblical Golden Calf
The Old Testament refers the Golden Calf during Moises' Time as Baal. Moises was instructed by God to bring the 2 tablets of stone containing the 10 Commandments. The Golden Calf was destroyed by God because the worshipped a false god and made an idol out of it.
