[edit] Daniel Backo

Any relation to Daniel Backo?--Jeff79 (talk) 12:12, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Yes, it's his son. I've got a ref but hadn't got around to putting it in yet.[1] Daniel is signed to the Cowboys but not had any first grade games yet. Not sure why he has an article. Florrieleave a note 12:48, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
He also has a notable mother, Dr Evelyn Scott, former Chairperson of the Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation. [2] Florrieleave a note 12:54, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] First grade?

You've got me confused now. I certainly didn't intend any slight on the BRL, but didn't Backo only play in Group 8, then Queensland regional before playing with Canberra? He didn't play in the BRL until 1991, after the 1988 cut-off? Or doesn't it cut-off then? When did he play for the Diehards? There's no mention of it in Whiticker, Andrews or any of the my other books. Only 'Cairns' (but no mention of the team, then Group 8 (again no team named), then Yeppoon and in 1991 Logan City. Florrieleave a note 13:05, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

I've just found his 'player profile' in a 1985 almanac and they at least tell me his birthdate! Previous clubs are listed as Cairns and Woden Valley, so that answers a couple of my questions. Still no mention of Valleys, though - or Yeppoon for that matter. Florrieleave a note 13:30, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

I got it from that Foley Shield website in the External links.--Jeff79 (talk) 08:40, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
