Sampie Terreblanche

Solomon Johannes (Sampie) Terreblanche (born 17 April 1933, Kroonstad) is an afrikaaner academic and writer, author of numerous economic books and more famous for his History of inequality in South Africa, 1652 - 2002. He is Professor emeritus of Economics at Stellenbosch University, where he has built a reputation as a lecturer in Economic thought and Economic history. He is a founding member of the Democratic Party (now the Democratic Alliance - the official opposition in South Africa), and played a role in negotiating with the African National Congress, which was in exile before the fall of apartheid.
