Sammatti (pronounced [ˈsɑmːɑtːi]) is a municipality of Finland.
It is located in the province of Southern Finland and is part of the Uusimaa region. The municipality has a population of 1,242 (2004-12-31) and covers an area of 85.18 km² of which 12.50 km² is water. The population density is 17.09 inhabitants per km².
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
It was the birthplace of one of Finland's most famous writers, Elias Lönnrot, the compiler of the Kalevala.
