"Cardinal" is a title, i.e., Mr. Pappalardo was a cardinal of the catholic church. Referring to the man as "Salvatore Cardinal Pappalardo", as if "Cardinal" were his middle name is against both Italian and English naming conventions; albeit in English one can say "George Gordon, Lord Byron" (note the comma), "Pappalardo" is simply a surname. Such a slip on the main page of wikipedia is both surprising and somewhat disturbing. Complainer 08:34, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Sorry if some might find this confusing, but having an article called "Salvatore Cardinal Pappalardo" would be like having one called "Thomas Archbishop Becket"; there is a limit to how preposterous things may get. Complainer 09:04, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
