I originally deleted this, and then on reflection undeleted it. The 'speedy' notice said t(correctly) that dying in battle does not get you an article, but he was awarded the highest Sri Lankan medal of honour. I'm pretty sure we would have an article on a winner of the Medal of Honour or the Victoria Cross so why not this medal?

I would suggest discussing this here, and that we don't delete this without an AFD discussion. DJ Clayworth 17:45, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
