[edit] Underground

Portions of Salinas River flow underground. It's often billed as one of the longest underground rivers in the world. I don't have any sources on this, so I'll simply list it here for someone in the know to add the info.Fcsuper 02:48, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 1906 Earth Quake?

I am fairly certain that the opposite is true, that the salinas river flowed through the "old salinas river" and entered the bay north of mosslanding before the earthquake rather than after, as the old salinas river is little more than a small drainage ditch at this point. the earthquake caused the river to break through the dunes at its present mouth south of castroville.

also, around 1850, the slough emptied all the way up north at the pajaro mouth--Prunetucky (talk) 05:50, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
