[edit] Salinan tribe is not extinct.

I happen to be a registered California Indian of the Salinan Tribe. Not only did the Salinan people not go extinct, but we have organized ourselves as a tribe for purposes of recognition by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

I would like to expand this article quite a bit more. Consider this my 'tipping my toe in the water', so to speak, to get my feet wet so I can contribute in a manner that maintains the high quality of the articles here.
