With a presence in several countries, namely the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Cape Verde and Angola, Salvador Caetano Group was born out of the will, courage and determination of Mr. Salvador Fernandes Caetano, a man whose achievement is resumed to a motto: «always present to build the future».

With more than half a century of activity, the Group continues to widen its horizons. From the bodies that started the activity in 1946, and that are still today a point of reference, it conquered Toyota in 1968 and later BMW. More recently it has turned towards New Information Technology, as a result of a partnership with another important local economical group, SONAE, with a strong investment in the multi-brand automobile retail foreseen.

The history of this Group is made of constant victories and an accumulation of projects, aiming at the construction of a Portuguese group of international prestige. Responsible for more than 6.000 workers, and with a turnover greater than 1.5 billions euros, Salvador Caetano Group has collected a large number of prestigious national and international awards. We, at Salvador Caetano Grupo are proud of this achievement as an acknowledgment of our high quality standards, presenting an outstanding position in the Professional Training as well as Development and Research areas.

Grupo Salvador Caetano (SGPS) S.A., mother company that controls the Group, it is responsible for the management of shares and defining the Group’s main strategic development lines, as well as co-ordinating the activity of all companies that are a part of it, and constitutes three business units, organized by three sub-holdings:

- Toyota Caetano Portugal, SA, business unit of Toyota representative and Toyota industry; - Salvador Caetano Auto (SGPS), SA, business unit of multi-brand retail automotive in Iberia market, and all the new concepts of automobile distribution, such as multi-brand retail, fleet management, spare parts retail, used cars mega stores, rent-a-car, etc; - Salvador Caetano.Com (SGPS), SA, business unit in information technologies, very much interrelated with skills acquired in the automobile sector, as well as in the Marketing and Communication areas.

And also three companies in the industry business unit:

- CaetanoBus, SA, produces Buses, like COBUS and CAETANO, for the entire world, and is a result of a joint venture with EvoBus (of the Daimler-Chrysler Group) and Salvador Caetano Group. - Caetano Coatings, SA, dedicated to surface treatment, painting and coating. - IPE, SA, produces components to the automotive industry.

Toyota Caetano Portugal, SA is mainly dedicated to economical activities in the automobile area, namely import, assembly and marketing of Toyota light passenger and commercial automobiles, marketing of forklifts and industrial equipment; marketing of vehicles parts, as well as the corresponding technical service. The industrial activity of Toyota Caetano Portugal, SA, is focus in the light commercial vehicles assembly Toyota and export for all the Europe, and also the production of mini-buses Caetano Optimos

Salvador Caetano Auto (SGPS), SA, represent a strong investment that has been done in the retail automotive with the purpose of becoming the leader of the multi-brand car retail market in the Iberian Peninsula, aimed with a sustainable growing plan of acquisitions and join ventures in Spain and Portugal, which represent the following brands: Toyota, Lexus, BMW, MINI, Mercedes, Smart, VW, Audi, Skoda, Opel, Citroen, Peugeot, Seat, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Daewoo, Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Mazda, Chevrolet, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Tata.

Salvador Caetano Group has always undertaken and assumed commercial commitments in Portugal and abroad. Now, looking to the next century, it is determined to grow and to become an outstanding organisation in the demanding environment of the European Community and the worldwide market globalisation. 2008 -Renault brand is now available at Salvador Caetano Group, trough the acquisition of Autogarme and Stand Clemente dealerships

2007 -Development of the automobile strategy for Spain trough the start of operations in Cataluña e Granada

2006 -Acquisition of Reicomsa - Nissan affiliated company in Madrid. Nissan appointed Salvador Caetano Group to be the responsible of Madrid NW area. Acquisition of Quer Group - Opel, Honda and Mazda dealership in Madrid..

2005 -Acquisition of VDR Group - Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda dealership in Aveiro. -Reinforcement of retail operation in Spain through a BMW and MINI dealership group in Madrid. -Acquisition of Setucar Group - Peugeot, Audi, Volkswagen and Mazda dealership in Setubal district.

2004 -Acquisition of Interestoril Group - Volkswagen, Seat and Skoda dealership in Lisbon. -Development of a multibrand concept in Oporto district. -Reinforcement of retail operation in Spain through an acquisition of a multibrand dealership group in the North (Galiza).

2003 -Start of retail operation in Spain through acquisition of Mercedes Benz dealership in the South (Andaluzia).

2002 -Development of a multibrand concept in Spain. -Joint venture with DaimlerChrysler for the production of buses for de European market.

1999 -Salvador Caetano entered enter in the business of used cars sales in large stores, car rental, fleet management and fast-fit centres.

1982 -Baviera became a member of the Salvador Caetano Group to import a distribute BMW products and services.

1981 -FOGECA SGPS (currently Grupo Salvador Caetano SGPS), the Caetano family's holding company was founded.

1972 -The former Toyota retail associated companies were founded.

1971 -The vehicle assembly plant in Ovar was inaugurated, with a capacity to assemble 50 units per day.

1968 -The Company become an exclusive distributor of Toyota products in Portugal (vehicles and forklifts).

1946 -"Martins, Caetano & Irmão, Lda." was founded and started operating in the bus bodybuilding industry.
